Now that downtempo is as big as it is, Sound Tribe Sector Nine has seen its moment to strike. And strike it has: Artifact is a sprawling twenty tracks of fluid downtempo techno. Sound Tribe Sector Nine's diversity outdoes that of just about everybody in their genre, as soft jazz sparks into tribal choruses which descends into glittery atmospherics.

Sound Tribe Sector 9 (STS9)'s Artifact will sweep you up and take you away. Rarely has an album with so few lyrics been so powerful and moving. With the exception of the first track, Musical Story, Yes, there are only a few fleeting glances of lyrics, just worked in the song in no particular order.4/5.

Sound Tribe Sector 9 has played various festivals and musical events but stayed pretty independent while gaining fans through their live perfornamce. The album i own from the various one's they've released sounds very down-tempo-ish, more of a Zero 7 feel with folk & acoustic sounds soulful ballads and even just easy listening tracks.
